The Lehigh Valley Aviation Discovery Program is a Community Initiative of AviationStart.org designed to introduce local students to aviation careers through school outreach, career education and hands-on aviation experiences. Open to grades 10–12.

How the school program works
School joins the program
Aviation Career Day is scheduled
Students register for the presentation
Aviation professionals visit the school
Students learn about pilot, maintenance and other careers
Interested students apply for the Discovery Flight Program
Parent/guardian approval is obtained
Selected students visit the airport
Students participate in their Discovery Flight
Interested students receive training, scholarship and career pathway information
Airport Discovery Day
Schools may also arrange a student visit to the airport for an up-close look at the people, aircraft and spaces that make aviation possible.
